All three tiers are dual layer architectural shingles with the same profile. Moving up the tiers buys a heavier shingle: more asphalt and granule weight, which translates to a tougher roof and richer color depth. Standard Landmark is the right answer for most homes. The upgrades earn their price on roofs that take heavy weather exposure or where the deeper Max Def color blends matter to the look.

The warranty says limited lifetime. The honest planning number in a freeze thaw climate is decades, commonly in the twenty five to thirty year range, with sun exposure, attic ventilation and installation quality moving it in both directions. Ventilation is the quiet one: a cooked attic ages shingles from below. Wind and algae resistance are built into the line when it is nailed to spec, and nailing to spec is the part the installer controls.
